What Is Victims Services Psychology?

Victims Services NSW funds free psychological counselling for eligible people affected by violent crime. Through this program, you may be entitled to up to 22 hours of free counselling—with extensions available in complex or severe cases (e.g. child sexual abuse, multiple traumas, or modern slavery). Services are available to:

  • Primary victims – individuals directly harmed by a violent crime
  • Secondary victims – witnesses or close family members of a victim
  • Family victims – family members of a homicide victim
  • Victims of modern slavery

Importantly, you do not need a police report, charge, or conviction to access this support.
